Weight Lose

Hi, I have a 2 year old border collie X Lab. He runs constantly all day (lives on 5 acres). Recently he seems to be loosing weight. He has been wormed, I feed him a combination of dry kibble, can dog food, raw meat, table scraps, vitamins - two meals per day. Is this correct and should I be feeding him more, this amount seemed ample. I have received comments on his lovely shiny coat. What can I give him to put on more weight. Thanks Annette
Swine flu in dogs?
Posted April 29th, 2009 by tiddlesHello, I'm not sure if this is something you know anything about or not but I was wondering if you knew anything about swine flu in dogs or even cats? If pigs and birds can pass it on to humans, what about dogs?

Posted February 24th, 2009 by animal motelMy dog has what looks to be 2 big blood spots on her eyes that you can see when she looks either left or right. its on the inside in the white part of her eye. My other dog attacked her and has since been put down but the dog. this dog is 10 years old eating sleeping and getting around do you think it just from the trauma of being attack and should it go away on its own. After I bathed her I saw that she had four punctures 2 in her neck and 2 in her upper head.
Barkley

About 4 years ago I adopted a Chow-Sheltie mix 10 wk. puppy from a local animal shelter I named Barkley. While Barkley has been a wonderful dog, easy to train, the most extroverted of creatures ever encountered, he does not like to eat, at all, EVER. About once a week he will vomit all his food up. 2 years ago he had to spend 2 days at the vet because he had not eaten or drank ANYTHING!! Several expensive tests later, nothing was discovered. Any thoughts or ideas. I feed him a combination of kibble, rice, and some kind of meat or fish.

Posted March 2nd, 2008 by poodle_pumpkinI just got my toy poodle, pumpkin. She is 7 weeks old. I have heard that crate training is the best way to get her house trained. And we are trying to switch her from canned food to dry food however we dont know the best way to do that. Does anyone have some advice??
1 meal

Hi Folks, macey has gone from eating breakfast(wheat bix and milk or toast with vegiemite) and her afternoon meal (kibble, meat and gravey or chicken ,rice and string vegies) to only eating her afternoon meal and shows no interest in breaky. She only empties once a day also.... from two big ones in the morning to one in the evening... she doesn't go hunting for food during the day and she will eat a 4 by 2 biscuit at lunch time... she gets no tidbits during the day and drinks about 1.5 L of water a day... Aidan , could it be tht she has settled down with her diet and the body is using everything it gets???.... she's 10.5 mths old and very active during the day... should i be concerned??/

When to spay or neuter your dog?

I would appreciate your thougths and/or comments..
My husband and I have two puppies, one female Lab (Becky) almost 7 months old, and one male Lab mix (Ben) 5 months old. We are planning to have them both spayed and neutered, but we're a bit confused on WHEN is the best time to do this. Our vet recommends to get Becky spayed as early as possible, before she reaches her sexual maturity. But the dog trainer recommends to wait until three months after Becky's first heat cycle, or right between first and second heat cycle, when her hormones are at the lowest. As for Ben, both recommend to wait until he is after 6 months old. As of today, Becky hasn't had her first cycle and Ben hasn't sprayed on anything yet - he still pees with both hind legs down.
