new puppy training.

I just got my toy poodle, pumpkin. She is 7 weeks old. I have heard that crate training is the best way to get her house trained. And we are trying to switch her from canned food to dry food however we dont know the best way to do that. Does anyone have some advice??

Hi, yes, crate training makes house-training much easier. Join the Yahoo doghousebreaking group and you will be sent two files which explain why and also how to do it.

Usually you would just mix a little dry food in with the canned food, gradually mixing a greater percentage of dry to canned each day. Others "pre-soak" the dry food to make it more like wet food.

I prefer to feed a raw, more natural diet with some dry food for convenience (kind of like TV dinners, ok every now and then but not as good as a fresh, home-made meal). Look into it, it's actually pretty simple.
