Great dog photos or drawings for our home page?

Does anyone have a really cool photo or drawing in a wide landscape format that would be suitable to run across the top of our home page? I'd like to use something that someone in our community has created.
While our budget doesn't quite extend to commissioning a piece, I'd be open to a barter deal :-)

What subscribers are saying about us (thanks!):
"This ezine is awesome! The content is great, but the best part is the "plain english" way it describes things. I print out all the posts and keep them in a binder. I do a lot of rescue work, plus have 3 dogs of my own. You can never have enough training knowledge and this is a great source."

" I have enjoyed and appreciated Aidan's input to the Training Levels Yahoo group for ages now and am overjoyed at Positive Petzine. I teach puppy kindergarten classes and often work with first time dog owners. As such I find that the more ways I can present a concept the better. I love being able to reference Aidan's work knowing that the training philosophy and techniques mirror my own. The writing is clear, concise and well suited to a novice pet owner whose major goal is a dog they can live with happily."

"This is a great site for helping people deal with common pet problems using methods that work quickly and effectively. They are easy to use and make sense once you understand something about what makes dogs do what they do - which is explained clearly. When I tried these methods on my dogs, they really worked, and were easy to do. Other commonly used methods did not work as well."

"This is an excellent site for anyone training a dog of any age. It has helped me tremendously with my 20 week old Jack Russell/Pomeranian. He use to be very hyper and out of control with the help of this site he has calmed down a bit and I am getting a dog that I truly wanted not some hyper uncontrolled dog. This is is good for any age dogs."

"The ezine has helped me with my dogs so much it's amazing! The information is clear, precise, and very easy to follow, and it makes training my dogs extremely easy! This ezine is an absolute library of information, all of which is very useful when working with your dogs. I highly recommend it for anyone with dogs!"

"Aidan is always the calm voice of reason in a dog debate--not an easy thing in a world where the witty line "The only thing 2 dog trainers can agree on is that the third dog trainer is doing it all wrong" isn't even funny! His work is readable and helpful, and always leaves me saying, I wish I had said that!"

"This is a great ezine. Lots of very good, easy to understand information for dog owners. As a pet training instructor I work with many first time pet owners (too many of which have just bought their puppy on impulse at a pet store) and they really NEED accurate positive information for training their new family member."
- Ina Davis (Pet Training Instructor)
"This site should be required reading for all dog owners, new or old. So much good information, that will help to get and keep a good relationship with your well behaved dog Thanks!!!"

What dimensions are you looking for?
Denise Frye
Hi Denise, I think 1024x78
Hi Denise, I think 1024x78 or something in that vicinity, basically to fill in the orange band at the top of this page.
I had another idea, I thought if I collected a bunch of photos of dogs in training I could crop them to a square format and montage them across the top of the page.
Regards,
Aidan

I'm sure you could do this yourself. Do you have a version of photoshop or a similar program? Also, keep in mind that you don't need to have the photos all square. A montage of different sizes could be nice.
I did one for my ebay store that I haven't really got going yet. Take a look and see if it is what you were thinking. This didn't take very long. I had a patterned background, set to the right dimensions, then copied and pasted and resized different photos.

And - another idea
Aidan,
Another idea would be for people to submit photos somehow, then change the banner every so often.
Denise
I like that
... it's good to keep things updated, so I like that idea.
I've got software which will create a montage. Something like Gus'n'Max's would be nice.

Aidan

I am just self-taught, but I imagine somewhere on this list is someone who actually has training, if you want help with it. Maybe send it out to the yahoo group? In between all the stuff I should be doing to get ready for vacation, I put together a 1024 x 78 of the puggles, if you want to use it for a while. If not, I completely understand. I tried to put it on the yahoo photos site, but because it is a .gif format, it wouldn't take it. I think that .gif works better for the web.
Will be interesting to see what you come up with!
Denise
Keen to have a look...
Could you email the 1024x78 to me?

Aidan

Aidan,
I went on vacation after I sent the last email about the banner, and I am so embarassed, I forgot to follow up. I am not sure how to get the photo to you. Through the blog, or do you have an email address to send it to? Sorry again about the lag in time. We are trying to get our house ready to sell, and my mind is going too many directions.
Denise
no problems...
...I've only just figured out how to get it up on the page anyway
Contact me here http://positivepetzine.com/?q=contact (Contact item in the main menu) and I will email you so you have my email address.
